If you want to buy wine from us or use our website you can only do so on the following conditions, and by ordering through our website you are agreeing to be bound by them.

The Village Wine Trader Ltd reserves the right to change these from time to time by updating this page

1. Delivery

1. Delivery of our wines is charged at $7.50 per case.
2. Delivery will be made by courier and will be signature required so please make sure that at the address you supply there will be someone to sign for the delivery.
3. Goods are to be checked before you sign as we will not be responsible for any broken bottles or any deliveries stolen after they have been signed for.  We can deliver to your workplace if that is easier.
4. Delivery times vary between regions but we will have your wine delivered to you within 5 working days of your payment being cleared and generally much quicker.

2. Prices

1. All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars.  Delivery is in addition to the product price.  Al prices include GST.

3. Age Restriction

1. When making a purchase on this website the Customer confirms and acknowledges that he/she is over 18 years of age and is legally entitled to purchase alcohol. The Customer warrants that they can produce sufficient evidence (e.g. New Zealand Drivers Licence or passport.) of that entitlement on request prior to or upon delivery of the product.
2. If you are buying a case of wine as a gift – the recipient must also be over 18 years old.

4. Warranty

1. We warrant that the wines will be of satisfactory quality and fit for their general purpose.

5. Limitation of Liability

1. We will not be liable for loss or damage caused by the customer handling the wine.  In particular we will not be liable for spillages or breakages.
2. Customers should also be aware of the following inherent risks and warnings:

• Alcohol should be consumed in moderation.
• A case of wine is heavy so extra care should be taken when lifting.
• Red wine in particular may cause staining if spilt so extra care should be taken.
• Sparkling wines and Champagnes can be volatile due to the build up of gasses.  Extra care should be taken when opening these.

6. Data Protection

1. By providing your details to The Village Wine Trader Ltd on our website or via email, you consent to us maintaining, recording, holding and using the information you give us at the time of ordering to process your orders, to improve our service to you and to inform you of our promotions.
2. The Village Wine Trader Ltd respects your privacy and will not pass on your details to any third party without your permission, other than where we have to so to get your wine to you.

7. General

1. We shall not be liable for any delay in delivering your wine if that delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our control such as, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, fire, flood, storm or Act of God, failure of ISP or telecommunications provider in connection with the performance of this Agreement.
2. The Village Wine Trader Ltd may change or add to these terms and conditions for security, legal or regulatory reasons.
3. Relevant New Zealand law will apply to these terms and conditions and the relevant courts of New Zealand will have exclusive jurisdiction.
